Zack Snyder confirmed that his next movie Netflix Rebel Moonwill ultimately be split into two films, with multiple cuts to be released from each installment.
Snyder’s comments came as part of an interview with Vanity Fairin which his producing partner and wife, Deborah Snyder. There Deborah explains that the decision to expand Rebel Moon to two parts arose from a dialogue with the high command of Netflix, including the president of Film scott stubber. “Originally, the script was a movie, but it was in ‘Zack form,’” she says. “It was 172 pages.”
Realizing the movie would be about three hours long, he explains, “Stuber said, ‘On the service, movies under two hours work better for some reason.'”
“Zack said, ‘If you ask me to do this in less than two hours, I’m going to lose the whole character. You won’t care about these people. It’s a character’s story about how people can change, and redemption, and what you’re willing to fight for…” continued Deborah Snyder. “So [Stuber] He said, ‘What if I give you two movies?’”
Yes ok the first chapter of Rebel Moon is coming to Netflix on December 22, no release date has been set for the second. Still, Zack Snyder said, “It won’t be long after that. Netflix can do things that a traditional studio can’t do in terms of how close movies are released.”

As for the multiple cuts from the Rebel Moon films, explained that the first will be one “that anyone can enjoy and see”, and the second so that each installment is more oriented to adults. “I think for my fans and the people who are ready to dive deeper, it’s going to be fun for them,” she said.
A sci-fi adventure film that Snyder has been considering since college, Rebel Moon is set in a peaceful colony at the edge of the galaxy that comes under threat from the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, then sends a young woman (Sofia Boutella) with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them resist.
