Because the “pop-up vaccination streets” introduced a week ago, for which no registration is required, were accepted: More than 2500 people were in the Linzer Passage shopping center, in the Weberzeile in Ried and in an inn in Neumarkt last week / Mühlkreis vaccinated.

Because of the “great interest, there will be an increase from this week onwards. Further pop-up vaccination streets without registration will be opened in Plus City in Pasching and in the Bad Ischl Trinkhalle. The times: from July 15 to September 4 in Plus City (each Thursday / Friday from 2pm to 8pm and Saturday from 10am to 5pm), on July 15th (5pm to 9pm) in Bad Ischl. In addition, around 5,500 additional vaccinations will be “registration-free” on public vaccination streets in Braunau, Gmunden, Perg (each district sports hall), at the Ried exhibition center and in Schärding.

Vaccination streets in the cities of Linz (Design Center), Steyr (City Hall Tabor) and Wels (Exhibition Hall 3) also do not require registration. Together with the cities of Linz and Wels, the state also uses vaccination buses.

The pop-up vaccination routes were introduced after the state crisis team noticed a decline in willingness to vaccinate. At the beginning of the month, around 90,000 vaccination appointments were free in Upper Austria.

The five million mark for first vaccinations has been exceeded throughout Austria. 3.705 million people, that is 46.9 percent of the “vaccinable” population over the age of twelve, have full vaccination protection.

Infection numbers are rising again

  • The level is not yet high – however, the number of new corona infections is showing an upward trend again. From Saturday to Sunday, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Health reported 159 new cases, more than half of them, 86, in Vienna. Upper Austria reported nine cases.
  • The situation continued to ease in the hospitals. The number of hospital patients with Covid-19 fell by three and was 102 on Sunday. 39 of them were in intensive care units, four fewer than yesterday’s Saturday and five fewer than a week ago.
