THEATRE-THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA – TELAM Agency
“The House of Bernarda Alba”, a play directed by Lolo Yeomans and with a male cast to carry out the story created by Federico García Lorca about a matriarch and her daughters, will arrive on June 16 at the Teatro Colón in Mar del Plata.

The play will be interpreted by the actors Eduardo Liuzzi, Carlos de Pratti, Juan Manuel Fernández, Mauro Martínez, Maui Romero, Leandro Molina, Rodrigo Sosa, Marcelo Altable and Carlos Velázquez.

“Originally the play was written for an entirely female cast, but the choice of actors is interesting to visualize a crossover of genders and send a message. These protagonists refer to themselves in terms of ‘we’, but they do not adopt voices or gestures female,” it was explained in a statement.
“This generates scenic strength in the result, since the characters are still women, each actor embodies the female character that they had to represent from their modality, each one setting that personal limit between one gender and the other,” it was completed.
Yeomans is assisted by Silvina Giles and lighting design and technique by Yvo Barki.
