Treat Williams passed away on Monday. The actor became world famous in 1979 with the hippie film “Hair”. Now he was the victim of a tragic traffic accident, as the Vermont police confirmed to several media outlets. He was 71 years old.
According to current police findings, Williams appears to have been overlooked by a motorist. The car then turned left into a parking lot. He caught the actor driving in the opposite lane on his motorcycle. Although Williams was wearing a helmet, police said, he was injured so badly that he was transported by helicopter to a hospital in New York. However, he eventually succumbed to his injuries there. The police continue to determine the course of the accident, Williams is said to have been the only one injured. Authorities said no arrests have been made so far.

His most famous roles include those in the hit series “White Colar” and “Everwood”. “He’s been at the heart of Hollywood since the ’70s,” his agent Barry McPherson told People. “He was a gifted actor. We only worked together on one film, but the friendship lasted years later.”
