Shot in Campion’s native New Zealand, the clip features several of the great landscapes featured in the film and shows some of the miseries Burbank inflicts on his new family.
“The Power of the Dog” is written and directed by Campion, and stars Cumberbatch, Dunst, Plemons, Smit-McPhee, Thomasin McKenzie, Frances Conroy, Keith Carradine, Peter Carroll and Adam Beach.
Emile Sherman, Iain Canning, Roger Frappier, Tanya Seghatchian and Campion herself are producers. DP is Ari Wegner. The editor is Peter Scibberas. The music for the film was composed by Jonny Greenwood.
The film is under consideration thanks to the performance of Benedict Cumberbatch, who already sounds strong for the Oscars 2022. And the actor has already received the Actor of the Year award at the Toronto Film Festival, one of the most important of the year. It should be noted that it is the same award that Joaquin Phoenix previously won for “Joker”.
The film will be available in select theaters and on Netflix on December 1.
