Netflix released the official trailer for Wham!the new documentary film directed by chris smith which will explore the history of the iconic band from the eighties. The film will explore how the duo of george michael and andrew ridgeley they became one of the biggest music icons during that decade.

It will also focus on the big secret that Michael was hiding and how this caused tensions between the members. Thus, it will investigate the real reasons why Wham! came to an end, in full success.


Wham! It will follow the four years, between 1982 and 1986, in which the band had one of the most successful periods in pop music. However, it will also investigate the pressures they felt for success, the internal fights and the difficulties they went through george michael during these years.

The documentary has the approval of Ridgeley, a surviving member of Wham!, who applauded the director’s work. “It’s the closest anyone has been able to make tangible what was the essence of Wham! And they did it with truth and affection,” he says.
“As a young gay man, I was uncomfortable. Because I was in the closet”says Michael in the trailer for the documentary. And it is that the film will also explore the musician’s sexuality and how he felt the pressure to keep it hidden from the public and the media.
