Fans and stars were happy that Jay-Z had bought an Instagram account. But this joy should only last a short time.
Just as surprisingly as Jay-Z (51, “99 Problems”) has just spoken on Instagram, the hip-hop megastar and entrepreneur has apparently already turned his back on the platform. His only post disappeared about a day later and the profile is no longer accessible. According to US media reports, more than two million people followed Jay-Z within a very short time.
The rapper’s single contribution was the poster for the Netflix western “The Harder They Fall”. The 51-year-old also posted a countdown to the film in his stories. Jay-Z was involved in the project as a producer and was also responsible for the music.
He only followed Beyoncé
Other stars were also happy that Jay-Z was finally there. “Welcome to Instagram,” posted actress Drew Barrymore (46), who commented on Gwyneth Paltrow (49) with a “Here he is”.
During the short time the account was active, Jay-Z only followed one person on Instagram – his wife Beyoncé (40), who currently has around 217 million subscribers on the platform. She, in turn, only followed her husband, with whom she has been married since 2008 and has three children together.
