“The Constitution says that the president has to be a US citizen by birth. If it weren’t for that, would he have run for president?” Wallace asked Schwarzenegger.


“Well, yes, of course”Schwarzenegger replied. “I mean, I think the field was wide open in 2016. And I think the field is wide open right now. I mean, think about it right now. I mean, who’s there? There really isn’t one person who can unite everyone. Who is here today that people say okay, not too old or not too this or too that, or is it because now it’s a question of who do you vote against and who do you vote for?
Are you saying you’d run for president in 2024?” Wallace pressed. “Absolutely,” Schwarzenegger replied. “Put me because it is, look, it’s a no-brainer. I see so clearly how I could win that election.”
“I mean, it’s like me and California,” he continued. “And when that was, you know, running for governor, it became clear that people are looking for a new answer, not a right wing or a left wing, but someone who can unite the nation and not see the other party as the enemy. There are so many things that need to be done. And it can be done. And what makes it so wonderful is that it’s doable. Everything is doable, or at least it’s just people coming together and saying yes, we can do it.”
