But not everyone can be happy about the victory of the half-Brazilian. Negative comments about the finale are now piling up on social media. Some users criticize the fairness of the decision, some they target Blotzki, commenting on the victory full of mockery, scorn and hatred.

“The fat woman won because otherwise it would be mean,” rants one user, “What should she advertise? Fried potatoes? Chocolates? Support stockings?” scoffs another.

But the comments are not only directed against the body of the 23-year-old. Many doubt the honesty of the decision. “Vivian is great. She’s beautiful, charismatic and talented. But she wasn’t the best,” writes one user.

Another commented: “Heidi just wanted a curvy model to finally win,” another user summarizes: “I don’t want to badmouth the win, in the end she worked just as hard as everyone else. But you have to be fair To say that Vivien definitely wasn’t the best in the final AND didn’t get a job. If performance really counted, she shouldn’t have won.”

The critics rely primarily on Heidi Klum’s much-quoted sentence “A model without a job is not a model”, which the juror repeatedly emphasized in previous seasons – and which was not used in the decision this year.

Neither Klum nor Blotzki have commented on the criticism so far. In her Instagram story, the winner only thanked her for the nice messages, she did not respond to the hostilities. “I still can’t believe that I’m ‘Germany’s next top model’ in 2023. I’ve spent the last few days realizing and coming to terms with it (…)”, she says. You read the “all the lovely messages”, try to read everything, but you can’t answer everything. Favorite Selma comments on criticism

Instead, candidate Selma has now spoken on her Instagram account. The 18-year-old was considered the favorite of the season, not only attracting the most jobs, but also the best reviews. In her story she posts a screenshot of various media reports that take up the allegations of Blotzki’s victory. She writes “I’m really shocked !!”

She says: “I’m a bit shocked when I see the impact of my sacking and Vivi’s victory and how the internet is escalating. I read so many hate comments towards Vivi where people write that Vivi doesn’t deserved and Selma should have won.” Of course she is very happy about all the support and is grateful for the reach, but she is “incredibly exhausted to see what Hate Vivi has to live with right now.”

She doesn’t understand the reactions and emphasizes: “For Vivi, such a big dream has just come true. She lives the dream that we all had and maybe she can’t enjoy it at all because so many people say she doesn’t deserve it had.” In addition, I cannot understand how Blotzki’s victory would trigger some people.
