Suddenly it got dark in the studio. But RTL chief fashion artist Peter Kloeppel was not deterred – and picked up the cell phone.
In the middle of the “RTL Aktuell” program, the power went out on Sunday evening in the station’s Cologne studio – and presenter Peter Kloeppel quickly knew what to do: he continued to moderate with the light of his mobile phone.
RTL announced on Twitter: “Our broadcasting center has been partially evacuated for security reasons. At no point was there any danger to people or buildings. “
Kloeppel himself also reported on Twitter after the broadcast: “I’m in the middle of a moderation and suddenly it turns buff – and the light was gone. And at the same time, of course, when you’re sitting in the studio, you think we’re no longer broadcasting. ” Then he recognized on the monitors that the broadcast was still going on. “So I thought to myself, I’ll just keep going – and hope that the light will come on again at some point”.
The résumé of the experienced moderator: “I haven’t seen it like this before – and I don’t need it every day.” Co-moderator Andreas von Thien praises him: “You stayed as cool as a dog’s nose.”
