Podcast Scam? Duchess Meghan is said to have faked her interviews

“Fake it, till you make it” is a well-known saying, but Duchess Meghan apparently could not achieve a breakthrough with it. Her podcast Archetypes has been canceled. Now there are allegations that he should have been faked.

The Sussexes have been criticized from all sides since it was announced on June 15 that Spotify would not extend Meghan’s podcast “Archetypes”. The audio streaming service relied on the royal podcaster as a driving force. It is said to be a contract with the Duchess Meghan worth around 23 million euros – but apparently Spotify was not satisfied with the result.

A day after announcing the split by “mutual consent”, Bill Simmons, head of Spotify innovation, said: “I wish I had been involved in the negotiation of ‘Meghan and Harry leaving Spotify’. ‘The s*** crooks!’ This is the podcast we should have done with them,” he ranted on his own podcast. The wording strongly suggests that the streaming service is absolutely not satisfied with the result of the podcast for such a pile of money.

Simmons does not name the specific reason for his rant, but other voices are now being heard that Duchess Meghan faked the podcast. It is said that she did not conduct a number of interviews herself, but that her voice with the questions was only cut in afterwards.

Duchess Meghan, “the presenter”, Farrah Safari, “the interviewer”

The portal “Podnews” brought these allegations to light and would like to have this statement confirmed by several sources. It is piquant that even a guest from Meghan Show has already hinted at this. Feminist and author Allison Yarrow was Meghan’s alleged conversation partner in the episode “To ‘B’ or not to ‘B'”.

Yarrow thanked her in an Instagram post, but between the lines one could read that Meghan was not the interviewer, just the moderator. The author wrote: “I’m delighted to be part of the visionary series #Archetypes, hosted by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, which aims to analyze and subvert the stereotypes that oppress women. (…) A Cheers to the producer @farrahsafari (an excellent interviewer) and the folks at @Gimlet @spotify for making this happen!”

The 12-episode podcast interviewed a number of high-profile guests during its year-long run, including Mariah Carey, Serena Williams and Mindy Kaling. The latter actually shared a picture of herself being interviewed by the Duchess as her episode aired. This suggests that the Duchess was choosing who she wanted to speak to herself and who, for example, interviewer Farrah Safari should speak to. The assumption is that the Duchess turned to the big VIPs themselves.

The “Wall Street Journal” assumes that the Sussexes will not collect the full amount of the originally concluded deal for the few episodes because Meghan has not met the productivity clauses and apparently the hoped-for success did not materialize.
