The series has enjoyed success since the 1980s. The fifth part will be in German cinemas next Thursday. The 80-year-old title actor Ford provides a lot of action even in old age.
80-year-old actor Harrison Ford says he did many of the stunts himself in the new Indiana Jones movie. “Where you see my face, it’s me,” said the American on Thursday in Berlin. In the strip, for example, he rides a horse through subway tunnels. He also fell off his horse while filming.
“I wanted to see Indiana Jones on a horse when she was 80,” said Ford. The story of “Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny” wasn’t so much about stunts either. “It’s about relationships and it’s about aging and facing age and living with age, living through it gracefully and redeeming yourself and taking a new chance.”
The fifth part of the series, which has been successful since the 80s, celebrates its German premiere next Thursday in Berlin. In addition to Ford, the actors Phoebe Waller-Bridge (37), Mads Mikkelsen (57) and Thomas Kretschmann (60) are expected on the red carpet in front of the Zoo Palast in the evening. The predecessor “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” came out 15 years ago. The new film about the adventure archaeologist will start in German cinemas on June 29th.
