In “Dorian Gray” play: Sarah Snook slips into all 26 roles

Actress Sarah Snook (35) has made a name for herself worldwide as an important character in the hit series “Succession”. The 35-year-old’s biggest acting challenge so far is apparently right in front of her: Snook will take part in a theatrical reinterpretation of the famous Oscar Wilde work “The Picture of Dorian Gray”. The highlight: Snook will embody all the characters on the stage in London’s West End – 26 in number!

“From Oscar Wilde’s remarkable original writing to Kip Williams’ breathtaking adaptation, it will be exciting to remaster this tale of morality, innocence, narcissism and consequence for new audiences,” said the Australian actress. “I’m thrilled to be returning to London in such an amazing play.” In 2016 she made her London debut alongside Ralph Fiennes (60) in “The Master Builder”.

Audience beckons unique experience

Before the play returns to Britain’s Royal Haymarket Theater in January next year, it will first be performed in Snook’s Australian homeland, including for a while in Sydney. Creator Williams is quoted as saying: “I’m really looking forward to theater lovers in London being able to see our performance and I’m thrilled to have the outstanding Sarah Snook by my side to guide the many characters of Oscar Wildes bring a brilliant story to life.”

The actress is also doing great in her private life. It was only in May of this year that she became a mother for the first time. The father of the baby, who is holding her in her arms in the photo while the finale of “Succession” is apparently playing in the background, is comedian Dave Lawson (44).
