Prince Harry had big plans for his podcasts: according to media reports, he wanted to talk to Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump about their childhood, among others. Spotify apparently thought that was utopian.
How does Vladimir Putin tick? Why did Donald Trump become like this? Quite exciting questions, to which there will probably never be a concrete answer. Also because they didn’t want to give Prince Harry the opportunity to try it. This emerges from a report by “”, which once again focuses on the ended collaboration between Spotify and the Sussexes. It was announced last week that Spotify and the couple were going their separate ways. The multi-million dollar “Archetypes” podcast will therefore not be continued. In particular, Bill Simmons, head of podcast innovation and monetization at Spotify, publicly ranted about it with harsh words (“Damn rip-offs”).
Prince Harry had a pretty unrealistic guest list
When it was announced in 2020 that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wanted to get started on Spotify, it was said that several podcasts were planned – including individual projects. People with knowledge of the negotiations would have confirmed to “Bloomberg” that Harry had big, but actually very unrealistic visions.
Accordingly, he was deeply convinced of one idea in particular. He wanted to do a podcast about childhood trauma and its adult implications. To do this, he primarily wanted to focus on controversial personalities in order to better understand their current behavior. According to the media report, people like Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Mark Zuckerberg were apparently on his list.
In another podcast, Harry also wanted to talk about religion. His desired guest? None other than Pope Francis.
Meghan is looking for another platform – maybe for Harry too?
It is hardly surprising that no second project was created as part of the Spotify deal with Meghan and Harry. To “Bloomberg” it was said several times that the ideas were at best classified as questionable, but by no means as realistic concepts.
grandson of King Charles III.
“Trooping the Color” parade: The secret star was again Prince Louis
As is well known, postponed is not lifted. According to a spokeswoman for Archewell, their company, at least Meghan “will continue to create content for the Archetypes audience on another platform.” Maybe Prince Harry can put his ideas into practice there – if Trump or Putin want to talk to him about their childhood.
