Almost three weeks after the GNTM finale, winner Vivien Blotzki already has to deal with body shaming comments. Now she is making some of the hate messages public – and even reporting them.
Vivien Blotzki has achieved what many girls dream of: she is “Germany’s Next Topmodel” 2023, prevailed against four competitors in the grand final and secured the hard-fought title. But instead of enjoying her victory to the fullest, Blotzki has had to deal with numerous hate messages since the GNTM final almost three weeks ago and pounding body-shaming comments on their social media channels.

So far, the 23-year-old has been more reserved with her reactions, commenting neither on the insults nor on the discussions about the fairness of her victory. But now the half-Brazilian finally seems to have had enough. On Instagram, she shared a post that shows her bare midriff at a festival, along with a long text that she begins with the words “A rather atypical post for me, I think, but unfortunately absolutely necessary.”

“This outfit was probably the number one trigger point in my last story,” writes Blotzki, who also shares in the post numerous screenshots of hate mail she received in response to her appearance over the weekend – all statements that are clearly below the belt and in Go in the direction of body shaming. “A woman who shows her body is probably already too much and if it is also one that is still not socially the same ‘standard’ corresponding, many people take this as an opportunity to write such news,” Blotzki comments on the news.

The “harmless” statements describe her cropped appearance as “unfavorable”, but the majority of the messages are simply insulting: “Whoa wearing such an outfit with this figure is really strange. You don’t do that to your fellow human beings. Everything is wobbling around “, rants one user, for example. “Terrible all the bacon,” rushed another. However, we do not want to repeat the worst comments – yes, it can get worse – at this point.
And Vivien is appalled too. She questions the reasons that lead people to such acts. “Is it your own insecurity? Is it a lack of love? A lack of empathy or understanding for people? Does this create any added value? Is it boredom?” She questions and emphasizes how things are inside her right now.

“I’m mad. I’m not mad because I have to read this. Because I’m very conscious of myself, so that kind of thing resonates with me,” she says. However, she is angry that “comments like this are responsible for young people out there not daring to do what they want to do.” Comments like this would prevent people from becoming aware of their own possibilities to find themselves and to become self-confident enough to fight comparable statements.
“I am very thankful for this platform and the vote that has been given to me because this account (MY account) is for the sole purpose of creating a Safe Place [dt. Wohlfühlort] to offer”, she emphasizes. She wants to inspire people, create a good atmosphere and share her life with the people who are really interested in it. “Anyone who doesn’t respect that, feel free to go [dt. fühlt euch frei zu gehen]”, so Blotzki.
She files a complaint
Hate messages On Instagram she said at the time: “I’m a bit shocked when I see the impact of my being kicked out and Vivi’s victory and how the internet is escalating. I read so many hate comments towards Vivi, where people write, that Vivi didn’t deserve it.” It makes her “incredibly exhausted to see the hate Vivi has to live with right now.”
In any case, Blotzki does not seem to be impressed by the hate wave. In her story she shared shortly afterwards that she had reported some of the comments, and in her post the winner also showed herself eating ice cream with pleasure.
