In May, Alfonso Ribeiro’s then three-year-old daughter had to undergo emergency surgery. Now the actor gave a health update.
In May, a serious accident involving the daughter of actor Alfonso Ribeiro (51) made international headlines: Little Ava Sue (4) fell off her seat scooter and sustained serious injuries that made emergency surgery unavoidable. Now, however, Ribeiro has finally given the all-clear: his daughter is now doing “great” again. She can move well and is recovering “wonderfully”.
However, the former ‘Prince of Bel-Air’ star admitted that there were “scary times” and there were “scary moments”. The actor is currently in Washington DC to prepare for his musical engagement for the play “A Capitol Forth”. As he revealed, his daughter will even come to visit him there soon.
Alfonso Ribeiro and his wife were not present at the accident
“She will be here this weekend,” said Ribeiro, “the progress is as noticeable as we expected.” However, it was a “long, long process”, but his daughter mastered the difficulties “wonderfully”. All in all, the recovery would take months, but that didn’t discourage his daughter in the slightest. The injury was “only external”, so ultimately “nothing serious”. A “big, old scar” is currently still visible, which is slowly receding: “We’re working on that.”
In addition, the actor, dancer, singer, director and presenter revealed in the “People” interview that he was not there when his daughter had an accident: “Our nanny was there, so we missed it.” However, the nanny informed the parents immediately and it was immediately clear that Ava Sue had to see a doctor immediately, Ribeiro reports.
