Daniel Radcliffe: “Harry Potter” series will have to do without him

Daniel Radcliffe wishes the best to the creators of a forthcoming Harry Potter TV series, but doesn’t want to be part of the project.

In one, Daniel Radcliffe (33) made it clear that he basically supports projects related to the “Harry Potter” saga. However, he sees no reason to take part in a new “Harry Potter” television series. Warner Bros. Discovery had previously confirmed that it had commissioned an adaptation of JK Rowlings’ (57) best-selling novel series. The project is to be worked with a completely new cast, which theoretically does not rule out bringing the “original Harry” back into play in a different role.

“I’m really looking forward to passing the torch”

Commenting on his decision, the British actor said: “As far as I know they are trying to make a fresh start. I’m sure whoever they [die Serie, Anm. d. Red.] wants to put his own stamp on it and probably doesn’t want to figure out how to get old Harry to show up around here anywhere. So I’m definitely not aiming for that. But of course I wish them all the luck in the world and I’m really looking forward to passing the torch. But I don’t think it takes me to physically pass it on.”

“Fantastic Beasts” shelved

On the other hand, the production of the fantasy film series “Fantastic Beasts”, in which the prehistory of the “Harry Potter” films is told, was stopped again by Warner Bros. at the beginning of the year after three of five planned parts due to disappointing sales. Whether the remaining parts will still be realized is currently still unclear.
