The negative headlines about their marriage and their failed business ideas do not seem to bother Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry. Together with the children they celebrated the 4th of July.
The United States celebrated its independence from Britain on Tuesday. No day is celebrated as patriotically in the United States as the 4th of July – red, white and blue everywhere you look. In the middle of the red-white-blue party this year were Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry.

In their adopted home of Montecito, California, the two watched a street parade with their children, Archie and Lilibet. Photos show that at least the youngest of the family adhered to the unofficial dress code. The two-year-old wore red shoes with a light blue floral dress. After Harry first admired the parade with his daughter, Meghan and Prince Archie joined them a little later.
A normal holiday for a (half) American family. But at the same time, the two prove one thing: that they are a unit. Because the headlines of the past few days and weeks have been almost entirely negative. The reason is, on the one hand, the professional failure of the two.
Failure and rumors of crisis
Almost a month ago it was announced that the Sussexes and Spotify would not continue their collaboration. Meghan’s podcast “Archetypes” will therefore not get a second season. In a statement, Meghan and Harry said the decision was mutual. But at the same time, media (including “Page Six”) reported that the real reason was that the streaming service would have wanted more for the money paid to the two.

The rumor mill is also churning when it comes to their marriage. In early June, Harry’s team was forced to deny reports that the prince had rented a bungalow at a private club in order to occasionally take a break from married life. Complete nonsense, Harry’s spokesman said at the time. Meanwhile, royal experts spoke to conservative media in England and revealed that they had heard for a long time that there should be a crisis in the marriage.
Admittedly, with an outing on the 4th of July, the two didn’t symbolically renew their wedding vows. And yet it could be a sign: We continue to stand together.
