Paramount released the first trailer for Bob Marley: One Lovethe biographical film starring Kingsley Ben Adir which highlights the life and legacy of the late reggae icon.
Audiences get their first look at the various stages of Marley’s life throughout the trailer, from his early days in Jamaica to his rise to global fame. Glimpses of Marley performing onstage as the singer relaxes with his family paint a picture of his life. The trailer also sets the stage for the assassination attempt on Marley, which he survived. In the end, viewers are left with a parting phrase: “One love, one heart, one destiny.”
Ben-Adir plays Marley alongside lashana lynch, who plays his wife Rita Marley. Director of King Richard, Reinaldo Marcus Green, directed the biopic, while Zach Baylin, Frank E. Flowers and Terence Winter wrote the screenplay. In particular, Marley’s son, Ziggy Marleyjoins the project as a producer.
Ziggy first showed a preview of “Bob Marley: One Love” at this year’s CinemaCon.
“It’s great to be here today on behalf of this film about my father.” “I am here as a producer of this film, but also as a steward of my father’s incredible legacy… this message of unity and love is as urgent as ever.”
Ziggy Marley went on to explain that the movie will be a memorial to his late father. “People will deepen their connection to Bob and honor Bob in the right way,” he said.
“Bob Marley: One Love” will debut in theaters in January 2024.
