As the sexual taboos are becoming more and more in the past, the use of “toys” and different devices for self-satisfaction or use as a couple grew strongly. It is estimated that more than a third of Argentine men and women -we put women first because they are the majority- used them at least once in their lives.
For some time now, one of the most popular formats among women has been clit suckerswhich are highly recommended by their users.
However, A red flag for health emerged from the analysis made by a group of academics on these devices.
For many women, this revolutionary device has managed to become one of the most effective methods for orgasm. However, some experts advise against its use.
A course at the University of Cantabria on the application of physiotherapy in sexual disorders has warned about the adverse effects of these suckers.

The physiotherapist at the Dobra de Torrelavega Health Center, Concepción Pérez Castro, has warned that “the clitoral sucker makes us reach orgasm very quickly and is short in time, but what we try is to reach an orgasm that lasts over time” .
“If we achieve an orgasm very quickly, in the end it is not good for the body, which is why the clitoral sucker is not what we recommend”, has added.
The specialist’s job is to find the root of the sexual disorder and, to do so, analyzes “how it came about, if the person suffers from it with their partner or with themselves and if it is a consequence of decreased desire.”
According to his criteria, the physiosexological treatment to try to recover it involves “seeking visual and tactile stimuli, using tools to recover sensations, or playing with stimulation with oils.”
Pérez Castro explains that the sexual disorder or orgasm can also have a more physical cause, due to lack of mobility of the body, “and then we look for positions that increase pleasure, depending on how the pelvic floor is.”
What the physiotherapist does make clear is that “orgasm is in the head” and that the work of physiosexology is “to stimulate, eroticize different areas of the body to get pleasure again”.
How does the clitoral sucker work?
The suckers create some vibratory waves that stimulate the clitoris without touching it. In this way, they generate a slight suction on it which, together with the oscillation of the vibratory waves, makes the blood flow better through the area, increasing the sensation of pleasure.
Other possible risks of using a clitoral sucker
- Irritation and excessive sensitivity: The clitoral sucker uses a combination of suction and pulsations to provide intense stimulation. If used excessively or with the wrong settings, it can cause irritation and hypersensitivity in the clitoral area. This can result in discomfort, redness, swelling, and painful sensations.
- Bruises and injuries: Due to the intensity of the suction exerted by this device, some people may experience bruising or injury to the clitoris or surrounding tissues. Prolonged or excessive sucking can cause blood vessels to rupture and damage delicate tissue, which can result in bruising or even more serious injury.
- Addiction and desensitization: The intense and highly pleasurable stimulation provided by the clitoral sucker can lead to psychological dependence and clitoral desensitization. Getting used to the intense and targeted stimulation that this device offers, some people may find it difficult to experience pleasure during manual or sexual stimulation without the suction cup.
- circulatory problems: Prolonged use of the clitoral sucker may affect blood circulation in the genital area. Prolonged sucking can restrict blood flow, which can have negative long-term health consequences. Additionally, those with pre-existing medical conditions that affect circulation, such as diabetes, should exercise extra caution when using this device.
- Infections and hygiene problems: It is essential to maintain good hygiene when using any sex toy, including the clitoral sucker. Direct contact with the genitals and lack of proper cleaning can increase the risk of bacterial or fungal infections. It is important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning and maintaining the device, as well as to use water-based lubricants to prevent dryness and excessive friction.
