The Frankfurt Regional Court sentenced Fat Comedy to 50,000 euros for slapping Oliver Pocher.
Oliver Pocher (44) was awarded 50,000 euros by the Frankfurt Regional Court in the civil lawsuit against Fat Comedy (24). Accordingly, it is a monetary compensation in the amount of 45,000 euros and compensation for pain and suffering in the amount of 5,000 euros.
Pocher’s lawyer, Patricia Cronemeyer, had originally demanded twice as much, she sees the verdict as an absolute success and “from a legal point of view” as a “milestone”. On Sunday she told the newspaper: “Physical violence and lasting damage to reputation are neither ‘comedy’ nor a trivial offence.”
A resounding slap in the face without warning
At the end of March, Pocher attended a boxing match in Dortmund when Fat Comedy – whom he said he had never seen or spoken to before – hit him in the face without warning. Pocher had to go to the doctor several times because of the attack.
The incident was recorded on video. Fat Comedy had spread the recordings on Instagram and made fun of the action in several videos.
Lawyers for Fat Comedy, who continues to joke about the matter on Instagram, plan to appeal the verdict.
