The reactions on social networks were divided. Many found victory “fantastic” and congratulated, others made fun of it: “Are men now better at women’s pageants or is this just a useless signal to be politically correct?”, asked a user on Instagram. The organizer defended the participation of a transgender woman: “Your participation marks an important step towards diversity and inclusion in the world of pageants.”
