“Radiant moments in the history of talc”. The WDR praises its meritorious presenter Bettina Böttinger, who is leaving the “Kölner Treff” in the fall.
The moderator Bettina Böttinger stops after 17 years at the “Kölner Treff”. The last issue with the journalist is scheduled to run on October 27th. “I’m looking forward to a very special show,” Böttinger was quoted as saying in a WDR statement on Wednesday.
The broadcaster emphasized: “Bettina Böttinger made the decision in mutual agreement with WDR.” However, the program should also exist in the future, as WDR explained when asked by dpa. “Bettina Böttinger’s production company will continue to produce the “Kölner Treff”.” In addition, further episodes of the format “Böttinger. Wohnung 17” will be shown towards the end of this year on WDR television and the ARD media library.
It was said that Böttinger had shaped the talk on WDR for a total of 30 years. Karin Kuhn, head of the WDR entertainment program, is quoted as saying that she is a “great hostess for prominent and non-prominent guests and thus always creates brilliant moments in the history of talk”.
According to the announcement, WDR director Tom Buhrow said: “Bettina Böttinger and the “Kölner Treff” are an unbeatable unit. I am always impressed by her great journalistic intuition and her excellent conversation skills. You can feel in every program that it doesn’t work without passion. So she made the “Kölner Treff” a real success story.”
The journalist started in 1985 as an editor in the Bonn regional office of the WDR. Since 1991 she has mainly worked as a moderator, from 2006 at the “Kölner Treff”. Böttinger has been nominated twice for the Grimme Prize.
