Actress Rosanna Arquette, 63, was taken to a local hospital after being involved in a car accident in Malibu. , she lost control of her BMW iX on Tuesday. Pictures show how the luxury electric SUV behind a shattered glass wall only came to a stop in front of the entrance to an open-air shop. The incident happened in the huge Point Dume Village shopping mall. The sheriff told the TV station: “It looks like she may have lost control of her vehicle.” According to the official, Arquette suffered no external injuries but was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

He also announced that there was probably no impairment from drugs or alcohol. Authorities were notified around 11 a.m. that a car had driven through a glass wall at the back of the mall and stopped there. How exactly the accident happened is not yet known. A firefighter, who was also called to the scene, said Arquette might have wanted to drive forward but backed off.

It was pure luck that no guests were injured. Before stopping, the car tore three beams that actually support a roof. There are numerous tables and chairs in the immediate vicinity, which fortunately were unoccupied at the time of the accident. Specialists now have to decide whether the roof is still safe or whether it needs additional support. Nevertheless, the firefighter also said: “The cause of the accident is still under investigation.”
