Along with an estimated $80 million at the US box office, “Mission: Impossible” grossed $235 million worldwide in its first five days of release. That’s a powerful world tally, especially for the seventh installment of a 27-year-old action franchise. Imax screens contributed $25 million, including a new franchise record of $14 million worldwide, according to the specialized site Variety.


In second place at the weekend box office, the drama surprised “Sound of Freedom”which refunded 25 million and accumulates in its second week a surprising 83 million.
the terrifying “The Night of the Demon: The Red Door”which led the box office last weekend, fell to third place with 13 million but maintained its good performance because it already has 58 million, a figure much higher than the 16 million it cost to produce.
The last function of Harrison Ford as the legendary adventurer Indiana Jones came in fourth place in its third weekend with a gross of $12 million. “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” has so far sold some 145 million in his country and 302 globally.
Close to the top five the lively “Items” with 8.7 million, which raises its national account to 125.3 million and the international to 311.7 million.
