Last month, it was confirmed that all five men aboard the sub on a tourist expedition to view the wreckage of the Titanic died in an alleged catastrophic implosion. Five pieces of debris from the submarine were discovered in a search and rescue operation.
This week, the sun published a report linking Cameron to an alleged project close to the tragedy.
A source claimed that Cameron was “in talks with the major broadcast network to create a drama series about the doomed Titan submarine”, adding that “it is the first choice for the director” of a film about the incident.

In a tweet, Cameron played down the claims, saying: “I don’t usually respond to offensive rumors in the media, but I need to now. I am NOT in talks about an OceanGate movie, nor will I ever be.”.
After the tragedy occurred, Cameron addressed the fact that OceanGate, the company behind the Titan tragedy, was “warned” about safety.
Cameron told BBC News: “Now we have another accident that unfortunately is based on the same principles of not heeding warnings. OceanGate was warned.”
He added that there was a “terrible irony” in the loss of Titan and its crew, likening it to the loss of the Titan itself. titanic in 1912.
Cameron went on to say that some within the deep-diving community, not including himself directly, had written a letter to OceanGate saying they believed, in his words, “you are on a path to catastrophe.”
