Movie: Paltrow: Aging Like a ‘French Grandmother’

A George Clooney can age – and continues to be revered. And how about women? Gwyneth Paltrow sees a clear difference in this – and has an idea.

Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow (“Shakespeare in Love”) wants more freedom for women to age the way they want. “As women we want to be healthy, we want to get older,” the 50-year-old told British “Vogue”.

Paltrow said she loves hearing “someone like Andie MacDowell with her beautiful gray locks” talk about her joy in aging and how “a George Clooney” is treated differently. There’s a double standard when it comes to graying men as good-looking, while women are expected to do something about their wrinkles.

“Everyone should have the opportunity to do what they want,” said the actress and entrepreneur. “Some women want to deal with everything about their appearance and some women want to be a fabulous French grandmother who never does anything.”
