As a woman in the limelight, Lily Allen did not have it easy in Great Britain, the singer explains on Twitter and especially blames journalist Dan Wootton.
GB News journalist and former The Sun columnist Dan Wootton has already set his sights on some famous celebrity women. In the recent past, Wootton attracted attention with sometimes hateful comments against Duchess Meghan. Now the journalist finds himself in a controversy.

As the online magazine “Byline Times” reports after several years of research, Wootton is said to have paid a lot of money online under a fictitious name in order to bribe dozens of men into disclosing compromising material about themselves. It was probably also about recordings of sexual acts.
Speaking to his viewers on his own show, Wootton said: “Like all fallible people, I have made mistakes in the past, but the criminal allegations leveled against me are simply untrue.”
One who does not speak well on Wootton: singer Lily Allen. Sharing an old tweet from Wootton on Twitter, in which he slammed her for crashing, she wrote: “A big part of the reason I maneuvered myself into these conditions (was) the relentless bullying and constant surveillance and scrutiny that that this man abandoned me for no reason.” “Karma is a bitch,” she said of the allegations against Wootton.
“Women were fair game”
In another tweet, she explained the influence parts of the British press have, especially on young women. However, she also made it clear that, of course, Wootton was not to blame for the fact that she was addicted to alcohol and drugs. “I don’t expect people to understand the pain of being bullied as publicly as I have been for 15 years,” she wrote. “Peaches Geldof, Amy Winehouse and Caroline Flack have all been bullied and abused, subjected to the same type of harassment as I and many others, at the same time,” she said.
Peaches Geldof and Amy Winehouse both died after years of battling drug addiction, while British presenter Caroline Flack committed suicide.

“That was the culture back then, we were fair game because we were female, young, articulate, well paid, brilliant at our jobs, vulnerable and approachable, we all wore our hearts on our sleeves and spoke our truths. And for that we had to be destroyed be,” Allen explained on Twitter. For years she felt trapped, her way out was alcohol and other substances.
“Dan Wootton last night claimed that he was the victim of a smear campaign by nefarious actors who had an ax to grind with him and that his accuser was waging a campaign to destroy his life. The irony caught my eye, maybe Dan can now starting to understand how it felt,” said Lily Allen.
The singer no longer lives in Great Britain but in the USA.
