An explosion near Düsseldorf in May injured 35 people. The Toten Hosen want to help the victims by auctioning off a worn jacket. But that’s not all.
Die Toten Hosen have auctioned off a firefighter’s jacket for 15,200 euros in aid of the victims of the murderous explosion in Ratingen. “We’ll add the same amount again,” the band said. Thus, 30,400 euros went to the campaign account set up by the Ratingen fire brigade.
Singer Campino (61) was given the jacket last year by the Düsseldorf fire brigade for the band’s anniversary – 40 years of the Tote Hosen – which he then put on again and again on stage during the song “112”.
The explosion near Düsseldorf, which is said to have been an assassination attempt, injured 35 people on May 11, nine of them seriously. The seriously injured are police and firefighters.
A 57-year-old from Ratingen is said to have triggered the explosion when police and firefighters opened his apartment door during a routine operation. He is being investigated for nine counts of attempted murder. He is in custody.
