HBO Max released the official trailer for the second season of the original series of HBO Lakers: Time to Win. The first episode will premiere on Sunday, August 6 on HBO MAX and HBO. The second season consists of seven episodes and a new one will be available every Sunday.
The second season of Lakers: Time to Win It will continue to delve into the world of the Los Angeles Lakers of the 1980s, exploring both their professional triumphs and their personal trajectories. The season will focus on the period after the 1980 Finals through 1984, culminating in the monumental rematch between two of basketball’s biggest stars of the era: Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.

The cast for season two includes an exceptional group of talent, including John C. Reilly, Quincy Isaiah, Adrien Brody, Jason Clarke, Gaby Hoffmann, Jason Segel, Hadley Robinson, DeVaughn Nixon, Solomon Hughes, Tamera Tomakili, Brett Cullen, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Spencer Garrett, Molly Gordon, Joey Brooks, Delante Desouza, Jimel Atkins, Austin Aaron, McCabe Slye, Thomas Mann, Gillian Jacobs, Michael Chiklis, and Rob Morgan.
The series is produced by Adam McKay and Kevin Messick for Hyperobject Industries. Max Borenstein is the showrunner, executive producer, writer, and co-creator. Other executive producers are Scott Stephens, Jim Hecht (who is also a writer and co-creator), Rodney Barnes (writer), and Salli Richardson-Whitfield (who also directed episodes 1, 6, and 7). Jason Shuman also joins as executive producer.
