What The Exorcist: Believers is about
The movie follows Victor Fielding (Leslie Odom, Jr.), who, since the death of his pregnant wife in an earthquake in Haiti 12 years ago, has raised their daughter Angela (Lydia Jewett) on your own. But when Angela and her friend Katherine (Olivia Marcum) disappear into the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, setting off a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil and, in his terror and despair, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed such a thing before: Chris MacNeil.
The Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn reprises her role as the woman forever altered by the possession of her daughter Regan five decades earlier, with Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale), jennifer nettles (Harriet) and norbert leo butz (Fosse/Verdon) completing the cast.

peter sattler (Broken Diamonds) and Gordon Green wrote the screenplay for “Believers,” which features a story by Green, Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) and Danny McBride (Halloween).
The Exorcist franchise hasn’t been on the big screen since the 2005 release of Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist, an alternate version of the previous year’s Exorcist: The Beginning. Those movies came after 1977’s The Exorcist II: The Heretic and 1990’s The Exorcist III.
The Exorcist: Believers hits theaters on October 12.
