While around 55,000 fans will be cheering for the musicians at the concerts, the campaign organization #aufstehn is organizing a protest rally in front of the stadium oval for Wednesday afternoon. The reason is allegations against singer Till Lindemann about sexual assaults.
Under the motto “No stage for perpetrators!” if you wanted to send a strong signal, it was announced in the run-up to the rally scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Several women had come forward in the past few weeks and described situations that they sometimes found frightening. Sexual acts are said to have occurred at after-show parties. Lindemann firmly rejects the allegations, his lawyers sometimes took legal action against media reports and had criticized “suspicious reporting that had gotten completely out of hand”. The local organizer Arcadia Live meanwhile emphasized that there will be “spectacular, but above all peaceful and safe shows” in Vienna.
