New features include:
Gender charts: Each week, Spotify charts generate the top 200 songs across 17 genres, categorizing songs based on the context of user playlists and editorial comments.
Artist lists: Artist charts are a reflection of who is peaking, based on streams across their entire catalog. Every Friday, the top 200 artists are updated globally and in the top 65 markets.
Local and urban pulse graphs: Spotify’s city charts take advantage of music that is popular with listeners in more than 200 major cities. Local pulse charts analyze the popularity of each track among listeners in each city compared to its popularity around the world.
Chart Data and Composer Credits: Along with the new charts, comes new data; Artists can now see chart entry dates, highs, and streaks from the expanded view. Viewers can also see the songwriter and producer credits for each song by clicking “more.”
Promotion cards: Apparently in the “bells and whistles” category, Spotify has created new Shareable Promo Cards to accompany any position on the site’s listing that is available to artists or fans.
