Wrestling star Paul Orndorff, who became known by his ring name “Mr. Wonderful”, has died. He was 71 years old. Orndorff’s son Travis wrote on Instagram about a picture of him hugging his father: “It is with great sadness that I have to announce the death of my father Paul Parlette Orndorff Jr. He is better known as ‘Mr. # 1derful’ Paul Orndorff.”
“Most of you will remember his stature. Many will remember his strength,” added Travis Orndorff. But people should have seen his good soul: “As much as many of you hated him as a wrestler, he absolutely loved you for it. He was a great father who showed me more love than I ever deserved. I love you daddy. “
Paul Orndorff was also an opponent of Hulk Hogan and Mr. T
Orndorff joined the World Wrestling Federation, the WWE predecessor, in 1983. A year later, he was seen in a major battle for the first time.
Orndorff joined Roddy Piper (1954-2015) in 1985 and met Hulk Hogan (67) and Mr. T (69). It was the main event of WrestleMania I. Then Orndorff became Hogan’s great rival. In 2005 the wrestling star was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Hulk Hogan mourned Orndorff on Twitter: “RIP, my brother. I love you and thank you for making me fight for everything in our matches, the sky just got even more wonderful”.
