Well trained and in top shape: You wouldn’t think that a few years ago Olly Murs weighed too much. In an interview, the singer explained what his diet and exercise regime looks like.
There was a time when Olly Murs carried around a considerable tummy of wealth. Nothing of that can be seen anymore. The singer not only looks sporty, but also well trained and has lost weight significantly in several stages.
Murs explained to the British newspaper “The Times” how he did it – because of course the visual change did not happen without changes in diet and exercise. His day begins at 8.30 a.m. with green tea and a berry drink rich in vitamins. Next up is a probiotic drink and a turmeric shot, which are said to have an anti-inflammatory effect, because then the 39-year-old goes to boxing training.
Olly Murs relies on sport and ice cream barrels
After an hour of sport, the singer first goes to the sauna and then to the ice bin – at minus two degrees. Sounds uncomfortable, but for Murs it is “a wonderful way to rid the body of toxins”. The newlywed Brit jokes: “I spent a lot of time in it after my bachelorette party.” For lunch, he mostly uses pre-cooked meals to get the right nutrients. In the evening, too, there is protein-rich food with vegetables and carbohydrates, before Murs has scrambled eggs as a snack before going to bed.
The routine is clearly having an effect: Murs has lost more than twelve kilograms and has a muscular body. After knee surgery, he had gained weight, but then changed his lifestyle and slimmed down significantly even before the pandemic. Murs is obviously pursuing this path with ambition.
His wife infected him with her passion for fitness
His wife Amelia Tank, with whom Murs has been together since 2019 and whom he married a few weeks ago, played a large part in this. Tank is a bodybuilder and has infected her partner with her passion for fitness. “She was absolutely fantastic. She gave me the decisive motivation and said: I can’t do it, you have to do it yourself,” said the singer last year. His wife created a nutrition plan for him that he absolutely loves. Murs regularly shares videos of his training sessions on Instagram.

What you should eat in the evening – and what better not
The start of the day is particularly important for him. “My life is pretty hectic and I don’t have much time to think,” says Murs. His morning routine helps him “to be present in my own head and not get too confused by the madness around me. Here I can put aside any worries about money or work and focus on myself. Once that’s done, I’m ready.” Sometimes, however, Olly Murs allows himself an exception: from time to time he visits a fast food chain with a friend. Now he can definitely afford it.
