By Piazzolla, the London festival Echoes dedicates its edition to a single artist for the first time

On this occasion, there are 21 different proposals that will run until December 11 and will include the Official Residence of the Argentine ambassador, where three important events will take place.

The recording of a special concert of the Master Roberto Aussel, “In memory of Astor”, on November 30, Aussel being the only guitarist for whom Piazzolla wrote a work (“Five pieces”) and who is considered one of the greatest guitarists in the world.

In addition, on Saturday 20 there will be a “tea and tango milonga” to celebrate its origins in 1900, which will also have free classes, developed between the Argentine Embassy and the Anglo Argentine Society.

And finally, a closing concert for special guests, with the charanguista Patricio Sullivan and the pianist Juliet Rodriguez.

Another attractive face-to-face concert will take place tomorrow at St John the Divine Church, South London, and will consist of a special conjunction of violin and cello, produced and performed by the Argentine chellist. Eduardo Vassallo.

Regarding film events, the University of Oxford will hold a debate and screening of the film “The Exile of Gardel”, directed by Fernando Pino Solanas and set to music by Astor piazzolla. And the documentary will also be screened online “The Shark Years”, directed by Daniel Rosenfeld.

Within the vast proposal of the Echoes Festival The Kirchner Cultural Center has released unpublished material from the special concerts of the “Piazzolla 100” Tribute, by Néstor Marconi, Amelita Baltar and José Ángel Trelles; the one performed by the Astor Piazzolla Quintet and the edition of “Libertango” arranged by Juan “Pollo” Raffo.
