They launched an online petition for Netflix green light a third season of mindhunterand has already amassed thousands of signatures.
Based on the true crime book of the same name, the series first launched on Netflix in 2017. Set in 1977, it followed agents of the fbi Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) while trying to get inside the mind of a serial killer, something completely new at the time.
A second season was released in 2019, and the series soon gained a huge fan base. However, despite the show’s popularity, Netflix plans for a third season in 2020 were put on hold.
Earlier this year, director, executive producer and showrunner David Fincher confirmed that he will not return for a third season.

The petition for Mindhunter to return
Fans made a petition calling for the return of the show at that time. Right now the petition has nearly 70,000 signatures.
“Please believe it, even if the numbers didn’t add up in Season 2 like they did in Season 1, we are still here faithfully waiting and clamoring for more,” the petition creator wrote, Dawn Bruner.
“Please don’t let such a brilliant series die because we know without a doubt that this show/series has the potential to be the most successful and popular show on Netflix.”
