With around 150,000 visitors expected over three days, the Frequency Festival in St. Pölten is one of the largest in Austria. Artists like Imagine Dragons or Die Ärzte play on a total of five stages from Thursday to Saturday and the weather is supposed to be hot like summer. Here are a few tips to make the festival run as smoothly as possible.

Arrival and parking
In principle, the ÖAMTC recommends arriving by public transport or carpooling. This way traffic chaos can be avoided.
Twice an hour there is a rail jet from Linz and Salzburg to St. Pölten, which is a good way to get there. From Vienna there are three ÖBB connections to St. Pölten every hour.
From the St. Pölten train station, the Frequency offers a shuttle bus for eight euros, which goes both to the Green Camping site and to the main entrance of the festival. You can also take the same bus back to the train station.
There are many parking spaces at the festival site that can be used. However, driving and parking bans should be observed and rescue and supply routes kept free, otherwise, according to the ÖAMTC, rigorous towing will take place. The ÖAMTC advises taking a second car key with you and giving it to a person traveling with you. “Especially on Sunday morning we will have our hands full, because most festival visitors only notice shortly before heading home that the car key has disappeared or the vehicle no longer starts,” says Herbert Dechet from the roadside assistance.

Hot and sunny weather
The three festival days will be sunny and very hot. Up to 29 degrees are expected on Thursday and Friday, and it should even be 32 degrees on Saturday. The Red Cross recommends wearing a hat and sunscreen. It is also important to drink plenty of fluids – preferably alcohol-free. In the event of circulatory problems, you should immediately go to one of the medical centers, where emergency doctors can also come to help. These bases should also be visited in the case of more extreme insect bites.
Because the nights can get quite cool, campers in particular are recommended to pack warm clothing.
Camping and Environment
The organizers of the Frequency ask all festival visitors to pay attention to the environment and, above all, not to pollute the Traisen. After camping, tents should be taken back and the rubbish should be disposed of properly.
Sturdy shoes are recommended at the campsite to avoid injury.

(Not) swim in the Traisen
Swimming in the Traisen is certainly possible, but the organizer of the festival advises against it. The Traisen is a flowing body of water where swimming can be dangerous.
