This was announced by the Viennese agency Hoanzl on Wednesday. The psychologist and psychotherapist, born in Steyr on November 18, 1948, coined a name for his cabaret activities: seminar cabaret. The “Guide to Sexual Dissatisfaction” marked the beginning of his career.
Bernhard Ludwig led seminars with behavioral therapy change programs for heart attack, high blood pressure and obesity patients for many years. He recognized early on that lifestyle changes are easier to accomplish with humor. In 1992 he designed a seminar as a cabaret program for the first time, and the term “seminar cabaret” – cabaret with a scientific background – was coined.
As a trained psychologist and psychotherapist, he integrated psychotherapeutic topics and methods as well as the “10in2” diet into his cabaret programs.
He is particularly well known for his program “Guide to Sexual Dissatisfaction,” which he segregated by gender and which he said could save “up to 10 hours of sex therapy.” Other successful programs included “How to Make a Heart Attack” and “How to Diet Madness”.
In 1999 Bernhard Ludwig was awarded the Austrian cabaret prize “Karl”. In 2005 he was awarded the title of professor “for his many years of service to science and education”.
