The 56-year-old has found that people come up to her today and apologize for her prejudices against her. She was often underestimated, she says.
Actress Pamela Anderson says she often hears excuses for past prejudice against her. “A lot of people come up to me on the street and say, ‘I had no idea who you were and I’m sorry for what I used to think about you because now I like you,'” she said of Elle magazine. She then wonders, “What did you think of me before?” Anderson said.
The Canadian-born blonde, who became famous for her role as a lifeguard on the hit TV series “Baywatch” and made headlines with a turbulent relationship with rocker Tommy Lee in the 90s, says she was often underestimated in the past: ” If people didn’t want to think of you as an intelligent person because you had a certain look – I think we’ve moved on from that, hopefully.” But she also took advantage of the situation, she said. “I always found it funny when you didn’t have any expectations to live up to because then you could only surprise people.”
Earlier this year, Anderson’s memoir “Love, Pamela” and the Netflix documentary “Pamela: A Love Story” were released, in which the actress talks about the tragedies of her life. When announcing her documentary, Anderson also wrote on Instagram about “a million misperceptions” that exist about her.
