Pop: Fury band members cash in drugstore

Kai Wingenfelder and his bandmates sat at the checkout in a drugstore for an hour. The money they earn should go to a good cause. How much together is unknown.

The members of the band Fury in the Slaughterhouse worked as a cashier in a drugstore for an hour on Saturday. The market donates the proceeds from this hour to the annual Christmas party for the homeless and needy in Hanover.

“Helping is one of the most beautiful feelings you can have,” said Fury singer Kai Wingenfelder. The band took over the patronage of the celebration for socially disadvantaged people more than ten years ago.

Fury was founded in Hanover in 1987. The band still consists of four founding members – including Kai Wingenfelder and his brother Thorsten, Christof Stein-Schneider and Rainer Schumann. Gero Drnek and Christian Decker were added later. Everyone also signed autographs on Saturday.

After their trip to the drugstore, the six musicians went back on stage, the open-air concert on Saturday evening in Hanover is sold out.

Fury in the Slaughterhouse was one of the most successful German bands in the 1990s. The band’s well-known hits include “Time To Wonder” and “Won’t Forget These Days”. With her 14th studio album “Hope”, which was released at the end of July, Fury landed at number one in the German album charts for the first time.
