Half-year results: Traton back to pre-crisis levels in the first half of the year

Sales and sales have increased at the manufacturer of commercial vehicles, even slightly above the values from the first six months of 2019. Traton will deliver more details at the end of the month.

VW’s commercial vehicle subsidiary Traton returned to pre-crisis levels in the first half of the year.

In terms of sales and revenue, the company, which includes MAN and Scania, is slightly above the values from the first six months of 2019, according to preliminary figures published on Tuesday. At 1.1 billion euros, the adjusted operating profit is roughly at the level of 2019.

Compared to the crisis year 2020, all values have improved significantly. Overall, Traton achieved sales of 13.6 billion euros – 3.5 billion more than in the same period of the previous year. Sales jumped by more than 48,000 to more than 126,000 vehicles. Incoming orders even almost doubled to 170,000 vehicles.

Traton is also confident for the year as a whole. Provided that Corona does not have any additional negative effects on the course of business, it is assumed that the operating return will reach the upper range of the predicted range of 5 to 7 percent.

Information on the net result for the first half of 2021 was not given. Traton plans to provide more details on July 30th.
