The 57-year-old is an avid video game fan. But he’s holding back a bit at the moment.
The US film director Zack Snyder (“Justice League”, “300”) is by his own admission a big fan of video games. “I like to gamble a lot. I recently played some “Fortnite” again, but I’m taking a little break,” said the 57-year-old on Wednesday of the German Press Agency. His wife Deborah added: “He played a little too often, already at five in the morning.”
The filmmaker presented his space epic “Rebel Moon” at the Gamescom video games fair in Cologne on Tuesday and Wednesday. The two-parter, inspired by the “Star Wars” world, will be available on Netflix from December 2023 and April 2024. A game is also planned.
“There’s a great parallel between video game storytelling and film storytelling. The lines are fluid,” Snyder continued. “Although the big hype from games like ‘Halo’ or ‘Call of Duty’ hasn’t jumped over to the big screen yet. But we’ll just have to wait and see.”
