Lizzo wants to take legal action against the allegations made by her former dancers. That’s what the singer’s lawyer said. The three former employees accuse her and her production company of sexual harassment, among other things.
Lizzo wants to fight back. After the singer had already commented on Instagram about the lawsuit of her former dancers (read more about the allegations), her lawyer follows suit.
Lizzo plans to file a counterclaim
As her defense attorney Marty Singer reveals to “People”, the musician is planning a counterclaim. He also shared with the magazine various photos and videos of the plaintiffs – Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez – from a backstage party. The photos were taken at the after-show party of a cabaret. The three said in their lawsuit that Lizzo forced them to attend. “What Lizzo failed to mention when inviting the dancers to this performance was that it was a nude cabaret bar,” the dancers’ complaint read.
According to Singer, the photos show that the dancers had a good time. “These irrefutable photos and videos, along with other substantial evidence, demonstrate the glaring contradictions between what the plaintiffs allege in their sham complaint and what is actually proven by the facts,” the attorney told People. “The lawsuit is a farce. Lizzo intends to sue for malicious prosecution after she wins and these flimsy allegations are dismissed,” he explains.
Her lawyer submits photos
At the beginning of August, Lizzo first commented on the allegations made by her former employees and rejected them. “The last few days have been extremely difficult and an overwhelming disappointment,” she wrote. “I don’t normally respond to false accusations, but these are as incredible as they sound and too outrageous not to be addressed,” said the Grammy winner. She is always passionate about her work and takes her performances very seriously. With passion comes hard work and high standards, Lizzo says, but she never intends to hurt employees or make them feel unappreciated.
“I’m not here to be seen as a victim, but I also know that I’m not the villain that people and the media have been portraying me for the past few days,” she said.

The dancers’ lawyer, Neama Rahmani, is unfazed by Singer’s statement. “Our clients are not afraid of Singer or his empty threats or his scolding of victims,” he says, according to “People”. “I’ve worked thousands of cases, including prosecuting drug cartels, so we’re not about to back down. Let’s see if Singer can actually try a case in a courtroom and not in the media.”
