The background is that according to the Epidemic Act, no violations can be punished. In the future, administrative violations after entering Austria would be punished with this ordinance, the Ministry of Health said on Tuesday evening. At the same time, the ordinance on the collection of fines with organ penalties according to the Epidemic Act 1950 and the Covid-19 Measures Act, Federal Law Gazette II No. 152/2020, will be suspended.
90 euros fine
According to the new regulation, the “lack of a close-fitting mechanical protective device covering the mouth and nose area”, the “lack of a protective class FFP2 (FFP2 mask) without an exhalation valve or a mask with at least an equivalent standardized standard”, and to pay 90 euros for the “failure to provide evidence of a low epidemiological risk”.
