Adele defends fan against security: “Leave him alone”

In the middle of performing her song “Water Under The Bridge,” Adele stopped abruptly. The pop star briefly interrupted her concert in Las Vegas and spoke directly and loudly to a security man who had apparently treated a fan inappropriately.

“What’s the matter with that young man who’s been harassed since I came on stage because he got up?” the singer asked in a certain tone. Video recordings made by spectators during the concert show her addressing a security man directly. “Why are you bothering him? He’s just enjoying the show. Can you please leave him alone? Leave him alone!” Afterwards, she apologized to the rest of the audience for interrupting the show.

“He’s been hassled the whole concert by security and by the people sitting behind him,” Adele explained. “He’s here to have fun. All of you are here to have fun.” What exactly happened is not clear from the videos posted online. Apparently the fan got up from his seat during the concert, which probably didn’t sit well with some of the other visitors and the security. After the incident, Adele continued her performance and restarted the song “Water Under The Bridge”, which had been interrupted so abruptly.

Adele’s Las Vegas show was expanded to include numerous concerts in March. Performances are currently planned until the beginning of November.
