The pink bench at Dirk Bach’s grave disappeared without a trace for several days, but now it’s suddenly back. And she immediately brought a message to the world of the living.
The pink bench from the comedian Dirk Bach’s grave, which has been missing for days, has returned. On Monday she was festively decorated with balloons and ribbons in her old place at Cologne’s Melatenfriedhof. “The bank is back,” confirmed a spokesman for the Cologne police. The “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger” had previously reported.
“Hello, my dears, I’m back!” it said on a piece of paper that was wrapped in a transparent film and hung on the backrest. “Don’t worry, I wasn’t stolen, kidnapped, or anything like that.” After all the mental and physical pain that had been inflicted on her in the past few days and weeks, she simply “gave herself a short break” to be pampered and pampered a little by friends.
The city of Cologne recently announced that it wanted to dismantle “wild benches” like the one at Dirk Bach’s grave from September 8th. In the meantime, however, this deadline has been extended to March 1 next year, said a city spokeswoman on Monday. A petition for the preservation of the bank has now been signed by more than 22,000 people.
It is unclear who took the bank away in the meantime. The police spokesman said that together with the public prosecutor’s office, they would check whether there was a criminal offense.
