A 4k version of “Nine Queens” is rerun at the San Sebastian Festival

The iconic film starring Ricardo Darín and Gastón Pauls will soon return to theaters in Argentina.

the iconic movie Nine Queens will have a special screening at the San Sebastian International Festival in 4k version, prior to its replacement in theaters in Argentina.

The performance at the festival in the Basque city, in which so far there will be 13 national productions in various sections, will be in the Klasikoa section, which since 2018 has been increasing the selection of modern and old classic films. In total, there will be eight titles that will be screened in the Tabakalera movie theater,

The new version of Nine Queens

the film of Fabian Bielinsky premiered on August 31, 2000 and was a hit that swept almost all the awards it competed for at festivals.

Starring Ricardo Darin and Gaston Paulstells the story of a seasoned con man and his young apprentice, who try to pull off a ruse by selling the stamp. Nine Queens.

The mastering of the film was made from a frame by frame scan of the original 35mm image negative, kept by the production company and the Buenos Aires Film Museum.

Marcelo Camorinothe film’s director of photography, took care of the color correction with the aim of recovering the original features.
