L-Gante’s lawyer believes that his freedom could be imminent

The lawyer of Elian Angel Valenzuelabetter known as L-Ghentthe musician who has been imprisoned since the beginning of June for illegal deprivation of liberty and threats, assured today that his client was “defenseless” and that, based on a series of new statements that can recast the cause, he could recover his freedom in the next few hours.

Is about Diego Stortothe singer’s lawyer, who assured Radio 10 and the C5N channel today that some statements taken in recent days, including that of one of the alleged victims, “made the legal framework of the qualification vary.”

“By virtue of that, we are going to request a reclassification for which he is detained. Elián is detained not because of what he did, but because of how they described the act, explained the lawyer.

“They accused him of coercive threats, for situations that did not occur. A person has been in prison for 90 days without a weapon, without marijuana, cocaine, or the sale of anything. He is imprisoned because he was defenseless and because of who he is. Nothing more than that, “said the criminal.

Storto explained that, from his point of view, the file “is poorly qualified” and that the fact “could define it as a drunken fight.”

“I want to make it clear that the Guarantee Court released him twice. Once he released him and another time he ordered the detention to be moderated. I understand that the judge’s criteria is that he does not want L-Gante to be in prison, “said Storto.

Finally, the defender assured that “there is a lot of background” and that “all the cases are in Moreno or in General Rodríguez”, for which he opined that in that judicial department “there is a significant persecution against L-Gante”.

In recent hours, the musician released a series of letters dedicated to his fans through his social networks and that he wrote in the cell of the Quilmes Departmental Investigation Delegation (DDI) where he is being held.

“I’m up to date, focused on what’s to come, not on what happened”, “I already have an album ready for when it comes out”, “there’s no harm that doesn’t come for good” and “I feel happy because I was inspired again”, are some of the phrases that he published in his Instagram stories.

Valenzuela awaits the Buenos Aires Court of Criminal Cassation to resolve the rejected request so that he receives extraordinary release.

The rejection of the release of L-Gante

The Mercedes Appeals Chamber, which on July 11 revoked the release granted by Guarantees judge Gabriel Castro, declared the appeal filed by the singer’s defense admissible and ordered the Criminal Court based in La Plata to resolve it.

The appeal for Cassation was granted by judges Oscar Reggi and Carlos Risuleo, who also confirmed the preventive detention for the musician for the crimes of “simple threats in real contest with illegitimate deprivation of liberty, in ideal contest with coercive threats -with respect to the complainant Darío Gastón Torres-, illegitimate deprivation of liberty in an ideal contest with simple threats -in relation to Rosa Catalina Passi-, and simple possession of narcotics”.

The complaint that led to the arrest of the singer was made on May 27 by Darío Gastón Torresa neighbor of the Valenzuela family, who lives in the Bicentenario neighborhood of General Rodríguez, in the western suburbs.

On the morning of that day, when leaving the “Río” dance venue located in that town, there was an incident with several young members of the so-called “La Mafilia”, the group of friends and musicians to which L-Gante belongs.

When Torres left the club to go home, he began to receive threats from Valenzuela.

After that, always according to the complaint, members of that same group went to his house and physically assaulted both him and his family, and then a white BMW driven by Valenzuela passed by, lowering the window, pointing a gun at him and getting in. to the car to Torres.

A few meters away, the young Rosa Catalina Passi, also a neighbor of the musician and who had participated in the first discussion with L-Gante’s friends, was also intercepted and forced to get on the same vehicle, according to the complaint.

Later, and always according to the statements of the complainant lawyer, some members of “La Mafilia” were delayed by the Police and L-Gante returned to where the cell phone was, lowered the window and told the agents: “Get out of the kids or this one.” I’ll kill you”, referring to the victim who was held inside his BMW.

Torres remained captive for 23 minutes until L-Gante received a call assuring him that his friends had been released by the Police and he released the victims.

With the evidence gathered, the prosecution requested Valenzuela’s arrest from Judge Castro, who validated the request and ordered four raids on June 6, one of them in sector 1 of the Club Banco Provincia gated community, where the musician was finally arrested.
