Maggie Gyllenhaal has two children, brother Jake does not (yet). But the Hollywood star would also like some – and if so, then his family would like to be like that of his big sister.
US actor Jake Gyllenhaal (“Brokeback Mountain”) admires his big sister Maggie’s family (“Mona Lisa’s Smile”) and is thinking about having children himself. “I would love to have a family and if it’s like the family my sister raised, I’d be proud,” the 42-year-old enthused in the US industry magazine People.
Gyllenhaal said his relationship with Maggie’s daughters, ages 11 and 16, is one of the most important relationships in his life. He likes to cook for his nieces and gave the older one a trip to Paris together. The girls’ father is actor Peter Sarsgaard, to whom Maggie Gyllenhaal has been married since 2009.
His sister’s family inspired Gyllenhaal to write his own children’s book, The Secret Society of Aunts and Uncles, which is forthcoming in the United States. He also has a great desire to appear in front of his sister’s camera for a joint film project, he said. “I trust her and I love her.”
